Architect</a> is not compatible with its earlier incarnations,
Soundweb Original. Soundweb Designer (.sdf) files cannot
be imported into HiQnet London Architect. Audio can still
be distributed to and from Soundweb Original devices in
the analogue domain but their networks must <span style="font-weight: bold;">never</span>
be connected together. However 'illustrative' representations
of the Soundweb Original devices are provided for inclusion
in system designs that include these units.</p>
<p><a href="MAINIntroduction.htm">HiQnet London Architect</a>
has a completely new design interface with tabbed windows,
contextual palettes and a virtual rack of devices. The
<a href="Wiring,_Virtual.htm">object wiring interface</a>
has been simplified, there is now no need to switch wiring
modes and an easier to use <a href="Wiring,_Virtual.htm">multi
wiring</a> system has been designed.</p>
<p>Although many of the tools and processes are similar
to Soundweb Designer, the construction of networks is
quite different using CobraNet. For example, CobraNet
uses inexpensive standard Ethernet switches to connect
devices.</p>
